Lead the implementation of new district initiatives such as the HISD Application Toolbox and the Texas Student Data Privacy Consortium.

Design and conducted in person and online training for teachers and staff around Office 365, Google, the HUB, and student privacy best practices. Developed automated systems for the maintenance of the HISD Google domain.

Lead Curriculum Writer

SOUTHERN REGIONAL EDUCATION BOARD

Lead a team of four subject matter experts in the design and writing of a complete turnkey PBL curriculum for a new TEA Oil & Gas course. Lessons were designed to align with the principles of the SREB Advanced Career initiative.

As a teacher at the Energy Institute HS, I taught 9th-grade Biology, AP Bio and Principles of Engineering using PBL as an instructional model. I had the honor of receiving the 2015 EISH Teacher of the year award and the 2016 Latino Magazine Enseña Award.

I received a BA in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in May of 2012. During my time at Rice, I had the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research into the effects of the Jim Lovell gene on neural pathways of fruit flies.

As a member of the HISD Educational Technology team and CTE department chair at the Energy Institute High School have designed and conducted countless hours of online and face to face professional development opportunities for teachers. 

Graphic Design

As a web developer, I learned the importance of aesthetic design in providing a good user experience. This skill was further refined as a teacher and Ed. Tech specialist whereby providing a dynamic and interactive experience there was significant improvement in learning outcomes. 

Project Based Learning

As a founding teacher at the Energy Institute, I had the opportunity to design and deliver high-quality cross-curricular PBL instruction.  Paired with my experience as a lead curriculum writer for the SREB Advanced Career Initiative Oil & Gas courses, I am a highly qualified PBL instructor.
